Job Description

HR Additions has partnered with a company in the Irving area in search of a Sr. Director of Payroll. This role is hybrid requiring all staff to be in office 3 days a week. 

Responsibilities
•    Lead the preparation and administration of semi-monthly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees.
•    Act as the subject matter expert to ensure accurate withholding of taxes across all jurisdictions and oversee the production of year-end tax documents.
•    Partner closely with HR and Benefits teams to coordinate payroll registers and associate payments.
•    Organize and lead internal meetings to review payroll accuracy, ensuring final approvals for payments from gross to net are completed prior to settlement.
•    Generate detailed summaries of earnings, deductions, taxes, and non-taxable wages.
•    Manage the processing of payroll-related bonuses and verify accurate inclusion of deferred compensation plans.
•    Collaborate with internal teams to enforce payroll deadlines and resolve any discrepancies promptly to ensure timely processing.
•    Design and maintain systems to collect, compute, and input payroll data into Workday, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
•    Foster a collaborative, high-performing work culture focused on continuous improvement and quality.
•    Coordinate with accounts payable and receivable functions to reconcile vendor payments, monitor budgets, and approve departmental fund disbursements.
•    Serve as a resource and mentor for team members and employees, providing guidance on payroll-related inquiries.
•    Identify and resolve post-processing payroll discrepancies in partnership with management, documenting all adjustments.
•    Evaluate current payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree is required.
•    Preferred certifications include Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
•    Minimum of 10 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
•    At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
•    Experience in a shared services environment is a plus.
•    Proficiency in Workday Payroll software is required.
•    Must be able to travel locally within the Texas region as needed.
