Job Description
HR Additions is recruiting for a highly knowledgeable and self-directed Leave of Absence Specialist to manage all aspects of employee leave programs. This role is contract with a high potential to become permanent. It will start in office and after training, it will become hybrid.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary and sole administrator for all leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, personal leave, and state-specific leave programs.
Manage the full lifecycle of leave cases.
Interpret and apply complex federal, state, and local leave laws and company policies.
Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers.
Partner with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure proper coordination of leave benefits, pay, and job protection.
Maintain accurate and confidential records within HRIS and case management systems.
Identify compliance risks and implement process improvements to reduce exposure.
Lead interactive process discussions related to ADA accommodations, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
Monitor leave trends and provide insights or recommendations to leadership.
Ensure timely communication and documentation throughout all stages of the leave process.
Stay current on evolving leave laws and best practices, updating policies and procedures as needed.
Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience managing end-to-end leave of absence administration.
Deep expertise in FMLA, ADA, and multi-state leave laws; California leave experience strongly preferred.
