Job Description
HR Additions has partnered with a leading landscaping company to find an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to join their team. This role is pivotal in independently managing payroll for approximately 300+ employees and overseeing benefits administration.
Responsibilities
- Process accurate and timely payroll for weekly and semi-monthly cycles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production teams to verify non-exempt hours are accurate and submitted on time.
- Liaise with payroll provider to manage payments, garnishments, and tax transactions.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure employee data (e.g., new hires, terminations, salary updates) is accurately updated.
- Partner with Accounting and HR teams on payroll reconciliations, benefits expenses, and workers’ compensation audits, addressing discrepancies as needed.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Prepare and provide payroll reports for management or auditors as required.
- Manage year-end and quarterly payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
- Collaborate with benefits brokers and carriers to administer employee benefits effectively, including resolving claims and coverage issues.
- Lead the annual open enrollment process and ensure accurate election reporting to carriers.
- Reconcile 401k contributions and company matching each pay period.
- Address billing errors, eligibility issues, and adjustments for all benefit plans, including COBRA.
- File Form 5500 and manage 1095-C annual processes.
- Communicate health and wellness programs through newsletters and via Inova.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience with a strong understanding of tax regulations.
- Payroll certification preferred.
- Proficiency in UKG/Inova HRIS and/or Aspire is preferred.
